Write the line as the character would say it and describe the performance in the script itself. Drama 3 reads directions such as [barely holding it together] or [amused, taking his time] as part of the text, so one line can turn cold halfway through.

What directing a line actually means here

These are the moves that separate an acted line from a narrated one.

Direct each line, not the whole project

Every generation is one script and one performance, so a scene is built line by line, with each take directed on its own.

Give the character a purpose

A direction such as [defensive, trying to sound casual] tells the model what the character is doing, which is often what makes a take believable.

Change tone inside a sentence

Directions sit where the change happens, so a line can start warm and end flat without a second take.

Keep the good takes, redo the rest

Drama 3 is a preview model and Fish Audio notes that results vary, so generating a few versions of an important line is normal practice.

From script to performance

Three steps, repeated per line.

  1. Write the line as the character

Type what they say and how they say it, then check the punctuation: a full stop and a comma deliver differently.

  2. Add the direction that carries the scene

Start with the one direction that matters most. Describe the intent in plain words instead of stacking several tags.

  3. Generate, listen, keep the best take

Preview the MP3 in the studio and download the version that lands.

Where acted lines are used

Character lines for games

Generate a line with the exact attitude the scene needs, then iterate until the take fits the character.

Animation and comic scratch tracks

Cut a temporary voice track for timing before the final recording, with the performance already in place.

Auditions and voice demos

Try the same line several ways and compare how each direction reads before committing to one.

Audiobook dialogue

Give spoken lines their own tone so dialogue does not sound like the narration around it.

What the studio accepts

These limits come from the generation pipeline, so they apply to every take.

  • Up to 2000 characters per generation

Directions count toward the limit because they are part of the script text.

  • One voice per generation

A conversation between two characters is generated as two files, which also lets you direct each role separately.

  • One MP3 per generation

Each generation returns a single audio file you can preview and download.

  • No voice cloning

This studio generates speech from your script and directions; cloning a voice is not offered.

Voice acting questions

Can I generate two characters in one request?

No. One generation produces one voice, so each character's line is generated separately and cut together in your editor.

How do I make a villain sound calm instead of shouty?

Describe control rather than volume: [soft, unhurried, never raising his voice] gives a colder reading than an angry tag would.

Is this good enough for a demo?

Drama 3 is a preview model, and Fish Audio notes that takes vary. It works well for scratch tracks, demos, and tests; generate a few versions before judging a line.

Can I clone a voice for a character?

No. The studio generates speech from your script and directions, and voice cloning is not available.

How long can one line be?

Up to 2000 characters per generation, including the directions inside the brackets.

Direct your first line

Load a published script or paste your own line, then take it to the studio and shape the performance.
